It's like a hootenanny or is it a hoedown? Whichever term suits your fancy will work. So let me break it down for you. Four or five guys stand in front of the stage with ukuleles in hand and the chords are broadcast on the hd big screen behind them. They encourage folks to bring their own Ukes and jam along. It's an incredible hands on crowd interaction experience. After a few songs from the guys they ask anyone who is interested to come up and perform a song and the broadcast the chords as well so everyone plays along. It's a fun and different live show than you've probably ever seen. It's gaining in popularity and I've seen as many as 50 ukuleles in one night and they were all in the audience. It's a sight to behold.
So pick yourself up a ukulele and join the fun. If you do not have one, there is usually one to borrow and some for sale also. So set you calendar for every 2nd Thursday of the month. People start showing up around 5:30 for the best seats and the show officially kicks off at 7:00pm. For more information call Dockside Tropical Cafe' at 305-743-0000 or stop by anytime.
